First Voyage



On Zheng He's first voyage from 1405–1407 he traveled from China to Champa (Cambodian) , Java (Indonesia), Palembang (Indonesia), Malacca (Malaysia), Aru (group of island east cost from Indonesia), Sumatra (an island in western Indonesia), Lambri, Ceylon, Kollam, Cochin, and Calicut. On his first voyage, Zheng He opened up trade routes and developed relationships between China and other countries that he had been to. In his fleet he included 27,870 men on 317 ships, including sailors, clerks, interpreters, soldiers, artisans, medical men and meteorologists. On board were large quantities of cargo including silk goods, porcelain, gold and silverware, copper utensils, iron implements and cotton goods.
