and on to his 6th voyage

By the 6th voyage, Zheng he has pretty much sailed half the globe already. On his 6th voyage in 1421-1422, Zheng he sailed from China to Hormuz, East Africa, countries of the Arabian Peninsula. This was when Zheng He discovers the new kind of animal, the giraffes. After the new discovery of the new animals and customs of other regions, the Ming dynasty emperor then ordered Zheng he to explore even further into the Western ocean and according the book 1421, by Gavin Menzies, it is said that Zheng he has discovered the new world before Christopher Columbus, Columbus discovered the new world in 1492.
